The Desco 19640 is the Surface Resistance Checker. Â This economical compliance verification surface resistance checker is used for determining if a surface is dissipative, conductive or insulative.
The color coded LEDs will quickly provide an exponent range for quick checks of EPA ESD control items. Tests start at 10 volts and automatically switch to 100 volts if the measurement is over 10^5 ohms. Â Once the reading is finalized, the exponent will remain displayed as long as the test button is depressed.
This unit operates on a nine-volt battery and a flashing LED warns when the battery is low to prevent inaccurate measurements and readings.
For point to point resistance (RTT) measurements or for larger surfaces such as flooring and mats, five pound electrodes (Desco 50003) and test leads (Desco 19641) are available. Â
Each unit is NIST calibrated (National Institute of Standards and Technology).
