The Wristband

The Desco 09184 wristband's magnetic connection to the coil cord provides a superior electrical connection to eliminate intermittent failures of traditional snaps and extends the lifespan of the wrist strap. The connection maintains a 1-5 pound release to prevent accidental disconnects and increase safety.

The silver impregnated polypropylene knitted band material provides a better connection with operator, especially for dry skin or dry environments. Also, the silver fibers are antibacterial to help keep the band and operator clean.

The band is a replaceable lightweight fabric that is non-shedding and non-sloughing so it will not introduce contaminants into the work into the work area.

A medical grade stainless steel locking clasp eliminates allergic skin reactions for most operators and prevents band from slipping so that the operator does not have to re-size the wristband each time.

Date coding is provided so that  the lifespan of the product may tracked and to ensure quality control.

A one megohm series resistor is in the design to protect the operator from accidental contact with equipment line voltage.

This product meets UL requirements to ensure operator safety.

The Coil Cord

The Desco 09184's cord is a 6 foot (12 inches of coils) coil cord that, when used with a wristband, creates a path-to-ground for an operator with a resistance of  <3.5 x 107 ohms, per the required limits of ANSI/ESD S20.20, tested per ANSI/ESD S1.1 or ESD TR53.

The Strain Relief Tests puts the cord through over 1 Million Cycles; 62 Times The Minimum Requirement Per ESD S1.1.  

A relaxed retraction coil cord has a soft pull that does not tug on the operator's arm during use.

The Low Profile Snap Design prevents the cord from being disconnected or getting in the way of operator’s work area.

Each unit is date coded to allow the lifespan of the product to be tracked and to ensure quality control.
